Turn On That Day
Attacking from the skies
Turning jet fuel into fiery prisons
With loved ones trapped inside
Some jumped to end their lives
Our hearts writhe with pain
Where did we turn on that day?
Did we remember God our Maker?
Did we seek to find His favor?
Running to the one we love
Forget not Our God above
This land He has given
Now filled with division
For a while unified
After that terrible surprise
Our churches filled up,
For a whole three months
We joined hands across aisles
To heal the pain that filled our eyes
Our hearts writhe with pain
Where did we turn on that day?
Did we remember God our Maker?
Did we seek to find His favor?
Running to the one we love
Forget not Our God above
Let the home of the free
Forget not to bow a knee
The Maker up above
Casts down His light of love
His Rule in our life
Shall end all our strife
Let us turn, let us walk by His side
Our hearts writhe with pain
Where did we turn on that day?
Did we remember God our Maker?
Did we seek to find His favor?
Running to the one we love
Forget not Our God above
Though we offend Thee every hour
His grace has more power
While we ruin the ones we love
He grants favor from above
Let us turn from our ways;
Turn to Him every day

Surprised by a Cowboy in a Black Hat
The cowboy walks right up to the guy sitting next to me, and hands him the iPhone. He says, “It’s your wife” then turns and walks away.
We’re all wondering what in the world is going on, but the phone conversation soon reveals the details. The businessman next to me dropped his cell phone somewhere in the Austin airport. The cowboy found it, picked it up, called the owner’s wife, and determined how to find him among the myriad of gates and people in the place.
The businessman and the crowd were all in shock: “An honest man”. They were all amazed that someone would return a cell phone, an iPhone at that, and then go to such great lengths to return it. A true good guy … wearing a back hat.
From a Texan’s perspective … it’s no big deal. He’s not the only one. It’s what you do. You do what is right. You help people. You stay true and honest.
The crowd at the airport didn’t see it that way, “There is one honest man left in the world”, “He’s an ole honest cowboy”. They went on and on about this strange phenomenon called an honest man.
I find it strange that they find it strange. Maybe, I’m still way too naive. Maybe, I really don’t understand the depth of man’s depravity. Maybe, I am really backwards. Thank God you and I are backwards from a backwards world, which makes it right, the true forward. Real progress and true blessings come from following His commands.
Thank God for an honest cowboy wearing a back hat. He changed the business world on a cold day in Austin, Texas. Pun intended.
Disclaimer: The events of this story are true and accurate, occurring on 2/10/2012. The names of those involved are unknown, thereby protecting the innocent and guilty alike, yours truly included. And yes, I have a black hat also; Just bought it and wearing it frequently.

RINOs and the Left Side of Religion
Only a handful of groups are cognizant of the “big question”. We’ve come to expect deception among politicians and political parties. You may be shocked to learn the following subtleties on the Left Side of Religion. This article alone will serve as a great test. There will be two responses. One will come with an affirmative conviction. The other will flow with disdain and mockery.
The segregation of the Republican Party is at hand. The issue began to boil, when Senator John McCain suddenly leaped to the fore during the Republican Primary of 2008. Now the question is steaming up the glasses of those involved in the 82nd Texas Legislature (2011). Shall thou RINO lead thy Conservative State? Don’t get ahead of me. That’s not the “big question”. The big question is larger than Texas’ Speaker of the House.
Within the GOP there are now three major sects. The latest rising star is the Liberty Caucus. This is the Ron Paul crowd who recently infiltrated the Republican Party with an aim of greatly reducing the role of government, thereby increasing individual liberty. There also remain the T-Total Conservatives, and the ever subtle RINOs. The RINO’s tend to support conservative fiscal/economic policies, but are much more liberal when it comes to tradition family values and the role of government. RINOs vote like Democratic Conservatives; they are Republican In Name Only. T-Total Conservatives are commonly known as Social Conservatives. This group embraces conservative values in all areas of policy, namely economics, social, and education policy. Tea Party attendees tend to be a combination of the Liberty Caucus and T-Total Conservatives. You won’t find many RINO’s at a Tea Party. Social Conservatives and Liberty Caucus folks align in the Tea Party movement, because they both understand that individual liberty necessitates individual responsibility.
Individual Liberty necessitates Individual Responsibility.
Now let’s connect the Left Side of Religion. Today’s religious landscape also holds a left side and a right side. Within Christianity there are left and right denominations; some liberal, others conservative. We can see this trend within certain denominations that you might think are the same. The American Baptists are far more liberal than Southern Baptists. Southern Baptists are among the most conservative folks in America. The liberal and conservative delineation applies to theology and policy viewpoints. A “living document” view of the Bible generally goes along with a living document view of the Constitution. The living document view places emphasis on contemporary cultural interpretation, rather than historical contextual interpretation.
You may be surprised to know that even Judaism has a Left Side. It is called Reform Judaism. They are far from Orthodox Judaism. This group constitutes the majority of the American Jewish population[i]. They esteem “Enlightenment” over “Revelation”, and refer to Orthodox Jews as “God-fearers” as if it were some sort of disease[ii]. The Reform Jew is much like a liberal Christian; Jesus is just a good ethical role model, and the Scriptures are just a launching point – more books written by men.
“The Movement for Reform Judaism does not consider this text to constitute the definitive answer on this subject. We believe that Judaism is a living, evolving faith and, as such, there is no 'final word' on Jewish texts, traditions and thought.”[iii]
A Reform Jew is a Progressive Jew; part of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.[iv] An American Baptist is just one of many Progressive Christian denominations in the United States. Methodist, Episcopalian and Presbyterians Churches exemplify Liberal Theology and Progressive Policy viewpoints. The Progressive Agenda is rooted in Humanism[v]. Moderate and Liberal Christians and Jews have bought into the Secular Progressive Agenda. These compassionate hopers in God vainly attempt using government programs to rescue irresponsible citizens from Natural Law. However pure their motive, the results are ineffective and their natural ally is the Secular Progressive movement. These groups deny God’s Rule over mankind by inventing ever changing moral standards, which are no match for Natural Law. The moral relativism of Secularist and the Left Side of Religion is whimsical and detrimental to our historical American Culture.
The Liberty Caucus and T-Total Conservatives understand that man cannot outwit the consequences of Natural Law. If you desire freedom and liberty, you must accept the consequences of your actions. Liberty and freedom involve doing what is right and responsible, not whatever you want. It is irresponsible of government to encourage irresponsible social conduct on one hand, while also attempting to fund a social recovery program on the other hand. Such a model is unsustainable. If a man desires the freedom to live in ways that are contrary to Natural Law, then he must bear the responsibility of his actions, and find help outside of government through a compassionate friend, family member, or local agency. It is highly irresponsible for government to underwrite poor choices with taxpayer dollars.
Here lies the subtlety. While Atheist and Agnostics are transparent with their views on God, the Humanistic ways on the Left Side of Religion are hidden behind religious ideals. Reform Judaism is centered on man, society, culture and community more so than the Laws of Nature’s God. Liberal Religion (Christian or Jewish) translates into Liberal Policy views, such as Social Justice, which may be found among RINOs and the DNC in differing portions.
“Is Natural Law the basis for American Law?”
That is the big question. If you’re nodding yes, now is the time to stand firm in your convictions. Do not waver. Do not give up. You were created for such a time as this. If you are shaking your head in mockery and disbelief, I sincerely pray you’ll consider the price tag of perpetuating human standards in the face of the Almighty, not only in dollars in cents, but the cost of lives destroyed by fighting against Nature’s God. Perpetuating moral relativism is more destructive and futile than fighting the affects of gravity.
May we only seek ... “the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle [us]” – Declaration of Independence, 1776

The Sidelines of Life
Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,
As a Minister of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, I call on you this day to stand against immorality persisting in our land.
Since 1972, many of us have stood on the sidelines of the political field silently tolerating widespread disregard for human life. Seventy-seven thousand (77,811) unborn babies were terminated in Texas in the year 2007. Four-hundred seven thousand (407,453) Texas babies were born that year. That means sixteen percent (16%) of Texas babies were aborted in 2007.
It is past time to get serious about reducing this awful trend in our land.
It is our duty to elect God-fearing leaders. Many candidates today have little regard for the truth, much less the life of a poor unborn child. I know a candidate that is different … Dr. Donna Campbell.
Dr. Donna is running against Lloyd Doggett in Texas Congressional District Twenty-Five (Texas CD-25).
Congressman Doggett has consistently voted for policies and programs that allow wide-spread abortions to continue. Dr. Donna adopted her daughter, and has a great passion for life. She is an emergency room doctor that fully knows and fully appreciates the value of every life.
Please vote for LIFE! Vote for Dr. Donna Campbell, and spread the word about your passion for the life of the unborn. Vote for God-fearing candidates, donate to those that support life, talk about it, and … don’t be caught on the sidelines!

Austin City Council Draws Your Attention with 1972 Agenda
I think agenda item #4 will motivate you to pay them a visit ...
Authorize the negotiation and execution of a ten (10) year lease renewal with one (1) option to extend for an additional ten (10) years with PLANNED PARENTHOOD, INC, for the use of a City-owned .35 acre tract of land improved with a 3,720 square foot free standing building located at 1823 E. 7th Street, for the purpose of operating a family planning clinic. The lease revenue is $1 annually.Yes, you read that right. Since 1972, the City has leased a building at the corner of 7th & Chicon to Planned Parenthood (PP). The rate is $1/year. The building dates from 1940 and maintenance is paid by PP.
In addition to the $1 annual rate for PP, they pay $400 per fetus for "termination services". The City does this to save our society from the cost of un-wanted poor children. They do it with your tax dollars, and also demand that "caution signs" be placed on "non-terminal" family planning service providers. If you don't provide "comprehensive family planning", then the public must be warned about you. Are you catching on to the trend?
Friend, please pay the Austin City Council a visit this Thursday.

The city of Austin in general is rooting for him. Second, this game is about more than the team or any one star player. It is about the city of New Orleans. The Saints are playing for their city. Their victory is a victory for a city in recovery. Third, and most importantly, the Saints are a balanced team. They have many great players on both sides of the ball. While Bush and Brees certainly stand out, they do not detract from the remainder of the team. We could also talk about Coach Payton, stats, etc …
Suffice it to say, Austin, Texas is generally rooting for the Saints. I’ll take this one chance at joining the “keep Austin weird” crowd.

Light Dawns for Unborn Poor in Austin
This past October we became aware of expiring "termination service" contracts between the Travis County Health District (TCHD) and local Austin abortion providers. Thanks to people like Dina Meyer and Dr. Joe Pojman of Texas Alliance for Life the vote on those contracts was pushed out to November. Additional light and pressure was applied and the decision was put off again. Finally, tonight the board voted.
Large complaints could be lobbied over the stacked deck of cards the TCHD staff dealt out tonight at the public hearing. The deception surrounding this issue is astounding. Rather, let's focus on the positive. Railroad Commissioner, Victor Carrillo, spoke boldly on behalf of the unborn poor. TCHD board member Clarke Heidrick publicly acknowledged the deception associated with the presentation and hearings on the 2004 contract accepted from the City of Austin. He also expressed concerns over the counseling offered by money driven abortion providers. Another member offered an amendment to fund abortion alternatives to the tune of $450,000. Much light as been shed on the situation, and faithful followers of Christ have been awaken to this issue.
The Austin community has come together to fight this battle, and we have only just begun. Texas Alliance for Life, the Catholic Diosese of Austin, the Austin Pregnancy Resource Center, Austin Coalition for Life, Free Market Foundation, the Austin Area Pastor Council and many taxpaying citizens have united to bring an end to "termination services" funded by Travis County property taxes.
Ultimately we know that being born poor is much better than being killed in the womb. Ultimately we know that good triumphs over evil, mercy triumphs over judgement, and life wins out over death. We will persist. We will stay in this battle to give light to the unborn poor. We will remain faithful to the end.
Pray for the unborn poor tonight and tomorrow and in the days and nights following. Pray, talk to others, and attend the TCHD meetings until the full light of dawn shines for the most vulnerable among us ... the unborn poor.

City of Austin Termination Services
I hope that title stirs your imagination. There are all kinds of services provided by the City of Austin. Most of them are legitimate for a civil community. Yet, we’ve recently come to realize that some of the “services” provided by the City of Austin are more like a hit man contract from the City of Corruption, Chicago.
Termination services “required” by the City of Austin were picked up by the Travis County Healthcare District (TCHD) in 2005. We’re talking about pregnancy termination services. We’re talking about abortion; the termination of innocent human life. And we’re talking to the tune of $450,000 per year.
Actual expenses for “termination services” paid by TCHD from Oct 2008 - Sep 2009 were $282,313. While I am grateful it wasn’t $450,000, it does represent over 600 aborted human babies. Travis County had 3,748 abortions and 16,152 live births in 2006.
TCHD is providing free “termination services” to low income women that qualify for the Medical Assistance Program (MAP) or State of Texas Medicaid. Your Travis County property tax payments fund these abhorrent termination services. With the City of Austin contract expiring, we have a great opportunity to terminate taxpayer funded ”termination services”.
Express your viewpoint an the TCHD public hearing on Thursday, Dec 10th.

FACT SHEET on Travis County Health District (TCHD) Taxpayer Funded Abortion
In 2005 the Travis County Health District accepted assignment of a 2004 agreement between the City of Austin and Whole Woman’s Health of Austin for “termination services”.
The 2004 City of Austin Pregnancy Termination Contract:
- Provides elective abortions to healthy low-income women (MAP or Medicaid).
o States, “the City has a requirement for a licensed facility to provide pregnancy termination services to women enrolled in the Medical Assistance Program (MAP) or the State of Texas Medicaid program”. - Limits abortions to the first 13 weeks based on gestational age.
- Specifies exact charges for “termination services”.
- Specifies $450,000 payable to three abortion providers. The fifth year contract term, Dec. 2008 extension, was not to exceed $787,053.
TCHD has a new contract proposal with “women’s services” providers who perform abortions.
- THCD is considering a $450,000 contract proposal.
- Actual expenses for the expired contract from 10/1/08 – 9/30/09 were $283,313. (1)

Coalition Calls for a Renewed Focus on Western Civilization and Ethics Coursework in Texas Colleges and Universities

Coalition Calls for a Renewed Focus on Western Civilization and Ethics Coursework in Texas Colleges and Universities Asks lawmakers to study the value of fostering greater civic knowledge
AUSTIN – As classes begin today at the University of Texas at Austin and other institutions around the state, a new coalition has launched an effort to enhance the quality of higher education in Texas. Responding to a diminishing emphasis on Western civilization coursework in Texas and elsewhere, the Coalition for American Traditions and Ethics (CATE) is encouraging Texas colleges and universities to develop coursework and programs that give students a strong background in American ideals, institutions, and traditions.
“There is an increasing demand for an emphasis on the fundamental values and principles of our country,” said Bill Noble, spokesman for CATE Texas. “We will work with lawmakers and other interested parties to achieve our goal to provide Texas college and university students a solid grounding in civic responsibility and ethical character.”
The coalition believes that Texas colleges and universities will have an opportunity to attract new students and professors and to stand out on the national level by establishing and developing these programs. Students will benefit from the skills they learn as employers increasingly seek graduates with a comprehensive education who also demonstrate civic responsibility and ethical behavior.
“Coursework that captures American ideals, institutions and traditions from the Greek and Roman classics to the original documents of our country’s founding helps to develop a student’s critical thinking skills and makes them – and our state – more competitive in today’s global economy,” said Bill Hammond, president of the Texas Association of Business. “More importantly, thorough exposure to coursework exploring moral questions and the founding principles of our great country serves to prepare students to face the myriad of ethical challenges that arise in their day-to-day lives.”
In addition to encouraging Texas colleges and universities to create coursework and programs focusing on Western civilization and American traditions, the coalition is asking lawmakers to study the value and benefits of such coursework and programs and to determine the most appropriate structure for facilitating these programs on university campuses.
“We want all interested parties to have an opportunity to present their thoughts and ideas to lawmakers during an interim study of the issue,” said Noble. “We believe there can be strong agreement from across the political spectrum to the value and benefits of strengthening university students’ knowledge of the ideas and ethical principles that have contributed to the foundation of our country.”
The Coalition for American Traditions and Ethics in Texas (CATE) is a broad-based coalition including university faculty, civic leaders, students and employers united in an effort to promote the establishment of coursework and programs studying Western civilization and American traditions to foster the development of ethical character and civic responsibility among Texas college and university students. Tertullian: Famine and War Prevent Overpopulation
Source: www.wikipedia.com - eugencis
Tertullian, an early Christian author (ca AD 160-220), was one of the first to describe famine and war as factors that can prevent overpopulation.[9] He wrote: "The strongest witness is the vast population of the earth to which we are a burden and she scarcely can provide for our needs; as our demands grow greater, our complaints against Nature's inadequacy are heard by all. The scourges of pestilence, famine, wars and earthquakes have come to be regarded as a blessing to overcrowded nations, since they serve to prune away the luxuriant growth of the human race."[10]

According to a Fox News article, John Holdren -- President Obama's "science czar" -- has espoused the need for forced abortions, sterilizations, and the creation of a "Planetary Regime" that would oversee population levels and protect the planet. The ideas are contained in a book he coauthored in 1977 entitled Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment.

Italy Resolution Condemns Abortion for Population Control

ROME -- Italy has long been an acknowledged world leader in fashion and food, but rarely in its tri-millennial history has it stood as a beacon of political acumen. Yet last week, the same soil that gave us Machiavelli seemed to take the lead in showing the world how to seriously commit to reducing abortions.

1977 textbook "Ecoscience" by John Holdren and Paul R. and Anne H. Ehrlich(CNSNews.com) – At a time when it was popular among environmentalists to talk about capping pollutants, John Holdren was writing about placing “caps” on the U.S. economy itself--and working toward “zero economic growth.”
Low estimate? China reports 13 million annual abortions
Source: www.bpnews.net Michael Foust Jul 30, 2009
WASHINGTON (BP)--China released statistics Thursday showing there are at least 13 million abortions a year in the country, a sobering number that U.S. experts say likely is a low estimate and a direct result of the country's one-child policy that often includes forced abortions.
Too many people - Public Forum Letter

In her farewell column, Rebecca Walsh fired a salvo at the leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, encouraging the church to embrace smaller families ("Leaving the place I love," Tribune , July 11). I couldn't agree more. My environmental consciousness was born in the zero population growth movement of the '70s, and I still consider human overpopulation the most basic of all environmental problems.

I find it amusing that Lingwall was so quick to defend Planned Parenthood’s illegality in the Lila Rose incident as simply exhibiting “loyalty to doctor-patient confidentiality.” Rather than defending misconduct, maybe Lingwall should spend more time researching the roots of Planned Parenthood and its founder Margaret Sanger.
Abortion, Eugenics and the Meaning of Margaret Sanger
Source: www.politicsdaily.com, Carl M. Cannon, 07/22/09
There is a disquieting reason Ruth Bader Ginsburg's defenders have been denying, however implausibly, the clear meaning of the Supreme Court justice's recent remarks about the history of abortion law, and that reason is this: Historically, eugenics has always been a significant component of the intellectual underpinnings – and political impetus – of the movement to legalize abortion.

Flushing Long Island Quakers
American History never ceases to amaze me. Pastor Bill Hart of Austin recently shared a bit of history behind a Signer of the Declaration of Independence, John Hart. John Hart descended from Edward Hart, the City Clerk of Flushing, New York in the year 1657.It seams the Quakers of 1657 were offensive to the Reform Dutch Church of the day. While the powers that be took exception to actions of the Quakers and arrested them. The locals failed to find fault in these Men of God.
Ed Hart drafted and signed the Flushing Remonstrance in protest to the authorities. This act cost him his job and time in jail. Hart and others were punished for their convictions with jail-time, banishment, and/or other penalties.
Experts assert the Flushing Remonstrance is directly connected to the First Freedom listed in the Bill of Rights. The Flushing Remonstrance was commemorated with a Religious Freedom postage stamp on December 27, 1957.
The modern day equivalent of persecutors inside the Reform Dutch Church is the ACLU, along side of the AU and the Freedom From Religion bunch. These so called civil liberty lovers hate the public actions evangelical protestants. They hate it when evangelicals prayer in public, especially in the Name of Jesus. They hate it when the Biblical teachings on sin are espoused. They hate it when the little children are taught the Christian religion, and they hate it when schools have the audacity to prayer. The ACLU believes attempts to minimize evangelicals as quacks. And the ACLU would love flushing the quacks off Long Island and the remainder of the continent.
The battle over Religious Liberty in American, the battle for the very soul of a nation, rages yet today. Join us on Sunday, July 25th for the First Anniversary of the Political Hope Radio Show with our first ever guest, Jerald Finney, and Pastor David Newsome. Jerald is a Christian Lawyer and author of the book, God Betrayed. David is Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Temple and led the call for prayer when the U.S. Supreme Court told Santa Fe ISD to stop.

Red Pill? Blue Pill?
"You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."Congressman Henry Waxman only offers blue pills, and you must swallow quickly. Representative Joe Barton is begging for time to peruse the Healthcare Reform Act of 2009. House Democrats plan to introduce and pass a bill impacting more than 20% of the U.S. G.D.P., while you’re still dreaming about how the wonders MJ.
I echo Representative Barton's call, "It is time to flood the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121". The Democrats and President Obama’s administration apparently misunderstand our vocabulary. This time the word is transparency. While most consider government transparency to imply visibility; Obama apparently was thinking of invisibility while speaking his campaign promises. Obama, Waxman, and company do not want you or the U.S. House to see the blue pill of panacea they are about to ram down America’s throat.
Socialized medicine is coming to America unless you can quickly find the red pill. Taking the red pill is equivalent to swallowing the harsh reality that you are the biggest contributor to health care costs. Many Americans are choosing risky health behaviors, and that is choking our health care system. Join Arlene Wohlgemuth and me for the Political Hope Radio Show this Sunday as we discuss Behavioral Health Risks and propose alternatives to a Universal Healthcare System.
Arlene is a Senior Fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation Center for Health Care Policy. She served in the 74th - 78th Texas Legislatures for District 58 (Burleson). Ms. Wohlgemuth authored HB 2292 (78th) , the sweeping reform of Health and Human Services which improved service delivery for the recipients, saving taxpayers more than $3.7B during its first five years. The reforms consolidated twelve agencies into five, and represented the largest government reform bill ever passed in the state.

If My People ...
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV
Break it down with me ...
- If my people ... who are called by my name, and
- If my people ... will humble themselves, and
- If my people ... will pray, and
- If my people ... will seek my face, and
- If my people ... will turn from their wicked ways ... then ...
- I will hear from heaven, and
- I will forgive their sin, and
- I will heal their land.
That is the Word of The Lord. That is His promise. It is not an unconditional promise. His hearing, His Healing and His Forgiveness must be preceded by true repentance. Do you honestly believe those that do not repent will be saved? Do you think we can continue in the ways of man and the ways of the world, and receive His blessing? Do you think America will be healed, if she stays on the same moral trajectory and continues to distance herself from the Lord?
I cannot exclaim loud enough or far enough how urgently important it is for America to REPENT! It's the Call 2 Fall. Join me Sunday at 4 pm live via internet or 99.3 FM Radio in Austin. Pastor Kermitt Bell of Glad Tidings and Mark Williamson of Federal Intercessors are my guests as we call Austin, Texas, USA to fall before the Lord. It is time to turn from our wicked ways, and receive the Righteousness that comes from God through faith in Christ.
Listen to Political Hope this Sunday at 4pm and call us with your prayer of repentance. Also, please post your favorite show topic or guest on our blog, or reply via email. We need your input as we come up on our one year anniversary! Past show titles and recordings are available at www.politicalhope.com/program.
