Bewilderment Among Professional Pork Spenders Association

They are professionals. They were training in the fine and brilliant institutions of the United States. Now they've made it to the top. They did their time; won their way through one bitter campaign fight after another. They are the federal decisions makers now.

They know best how to spend our money. They can spend it better than we can. They responsibly examine the needs of our nation and the world. Then they put the money right where it's needed ... so they think or claim. The American people see them more like the Professional Pork Spenders Association, not U.S. Statesmen, and they wonder in bewilderment why they have such a low approval rating.

Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, has hit it right on the head. Dick Morris' book, Outrage, also captures this issue and many others. It's the pork! It's earmarking (among other things)!

Friends, where is the outrage? Why do we tolerate this non-sense? It's been going on for years, and it continues to be a major problem. A problem to the tune of $18.3 billion this year.

Please read Senator Cornyn's article, sign the 100,000 strong petition, and be a loud voice! Be heard! Make some noise! Help the Professional Pork Spenders Association understand why they have such a low approval rating.

Not to miss an opportunity here ... how is it that "educated" men can do these things in clear conscience? C.S. Lewis put it this way,
"Education without values ... seems to make man a more clever devil."
Without a Biblical education; With religion and morality, self-control, democracy is a dangerous form of government.

A House Divided Will Not Expand

So knew the Founders, the separation of powers was central to establishing responsible and accountable federal government...

So knew the Founders, all men are corruptible ... The individual man, a potential tyrant; The masses as a whole and groups of all sizes may be lured into corrupt schemes; The church; The body politic. All are subject to the temptation of abuse, the lure of money, access to absolute power.

So acted the Founders ... They separated; They divided. They separated the power of the church from the power of the state. They separated the judicial from the executive, and from the legislative. They separated our legislative bodies. They divided the legislature into two houses or chambers.

Yes, they separated the House from the Senate. They separated the representation of the people from the representation of the States. There were thirteen State Constitutions to protect. There were thirteen State Governments that were already operating. The States had to be represented and protected at the new federal level of government.

So knew the Founders, there was great risk of the new federal government usurping the power of the States. They created a house divided ... Divided by length of terms; Divided in numbers; Divided in accountability; Divided by means of achieving office. U.S. Senators were originally appointed by the State Legislatures.

... A House divided will not expand.

With differing interests and accountability, the House and the Senate had to work hard to achieve common agendas. They had to work hard at coming together for the common good of the people and the existing State governments. They had to unite their divided interests to establish new law or new federal agencies.

With the adoption of the Seventeenth Amendment in 1914, we the people, have destroyed a key separation of powers, the central genius of our constitution. With the Seventeenth Amendment we have removed federal accountability to state government. With the Seventeenth Amendment, we have subjected the Senate to the same multi-million dollar campaign cycles as the house. We have made them both chambers near identical targets vulnerable to corporate lobbyists and special interests. The vast distinctions between the two legislative bodies are gone... for now.

With the Senate and the House now united in power, the size of federal government as exploded. How many federal agencies existing prior to 1914? How many have been created since? There are currently over one hundred thirty listed on the White House web-site. Adding the Seventeenth Amendment paved the wave for FDRs New Deal, and its expansive growth of federal government.

My friends, the federal government is now out of control. Election of Senators by popular vote, election by the masses, is not working. We are now witnessing perhaps the most expansive and corrupt era of federal government in the history of the United States of America.

It is time to again divide the body politic. It is time to again vastly separate the powers of the legislative houses. It is time to again make the federal government accountable to the State governments.

A house divided will not expand...

Obama's Manipulation Stimulus Plan

Yesterday, Presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama, spoke about his plans for America's economy. The basic thrust of Obama's plan is to expand government regulations in response to the current home lending issues and excessive profit taking by corporate executives.

When a consumer and lender agree to loan terms that are risky or exploitative, who's fault is it? Could it be the consumer's fault? Is the lender's at fault? Senator Obama blames lenders and the lack of government regulations to control them.

When oil and gas companies raise prices, and consumers don't change their consumption habits, who's fault is that? When corporate profits rise, and executives go on expensive trips, while workers' salaries stay flat, whose fault is that? What needs to be done to improve these situations?

Creating more government regulations will stimulate more manipulation of the law. No sooner than new regulations hit the books, corporate lawyers will have already figured out ways to navigate around the regulatory obstacles that impede their business.

This writer advocates self regulation. Self control. Liberty under God's laws. The right laws are already on the books; the Big Book. The Old and New Testaments alike repeatedly tell us to deal fairly with one another. Do not lie, mislead, or withhold information. Do not steal, cheat or fudge the numbers. Don't exploit another person. Don't charge excessive usury. Don't use unjust scales. It's all in the Book of God's Law, and there are already plenty of laws on the federal books as well.

More regulations won't change a nation that doesn't accept moral standards. What America needs is a change of heart. America needs a re-assertion of Godly influence.

If you want to blame someone or something, what about the thinking of Secular Humanist and modern philosophers that have helped establish moral relativism as they've corrupted and infiltrated our education system? If you want to blame someone, consider parents that have failed to teach the commands of God to their children. If you want to blame someone, what about consumers that have forgotten that spending habits are theirs to control? If you want to blame something, what about the countless federal regulations that are already on the books? If you want to blame someone, maybe we should consider the churches lack of influence on justice and morality?

My friend, more government regulations will stimulate more manipulation of the law. To the increase of wickedness, there is no end. Man is always inventing new ways to do evil. It's time for us to turn back to the morality of God and the Bible. It's time to teach our sons and daughters the righteousness of God; to love by His commands. Then, when Americans again demand righteousness and goodness, God will heal our land. Godly ways are our political hope!

The Generosity of the State

Where do our rights come from? What do you think? Are our rights innate, because we are human? Are our rights bore from the loins of mother earth? Does evolution relegate us to the same status as all other living plants and animals of the earth? Are rights granted by government?

Or ... maybe you agree with the President John F. Kennedy, and a host of others that have gone before us ...

"... the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God." - President, John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address, Friday, January 20, 1961

Maybe you agree with the Declaration of Independence ... "We are endowed by Our Creator." Maybe you agree with the Bible? Seriously, now...

The Bible does not spell it out in those exact words. The Bible does tell us that we are the product of creation; special creation. The Bible does put man in authority over the animals and the plants of the earth. The Bible does tell us in many situations that institutions are made for man, not man for the sake of the institutions. The Bible also tells us that we are not to have any other gods before The Lord God of Israel (including government). The Bible tells us that everything we have comes from God.

Secular Humanism teaches that the Bible is outdated and proven wrong. I beg to differ. Secular Humanism says that man will save humanity and the earth. I beg to differ. Secular Humanism says that you are the product of evolution, therefore, your rights cannot come from God. In their eyes, God does not exist. Secular Humanism is a religion and political philosophy, and it is being taught to our sons and daughters in public schools and universities.

Friends, the origin of rights is a fundamental matter upon which the Constitution, Liberty, Freedom, and the up-coming presidential election rest. Most people today have ditched the old beliefs. Most people today have adopted the ideology of the Religous Humanist. Many have even turned to government as their god.

If you dare to hope again for America politics. Place your hope in God. If America is going to be saved politically, or any other way, it will be by the hand of God. If our children and grand-children enjoy the same liberties and freedoms we've known, it will be because of God and Godly ways. The ways of man; the ways of the Secular Humanist, the ways of the Secular Progressive have proven wrong. They are not advancing the cause of liberty in the United States. They are producing more restrictions on citizens, and more dependency on government regulation.

Get free! Have hope; Political Hope! Trust in God and His Ways! God Save the U.S.A.
