Abstaining from Christian Ed

On one hand you have the Condoms and Clorox crowd calling for "comprehensive" sex education. On the other you have those calling for an exodus of Christians from the public school system. Scattered in between are those that think education problems lie with the government, the teachers, other kids, other schools, other parents, and a host of other failures that DO NOT include self. The common element I see is that no one is saying, "the responsibility lies with me".

It is clear that Christian values and Biblical education are on the decline in American culture. While Texas' current education code requires abstinence based sex education, is the real problem mass abstinence from true Christian Education? It is reasonable to expect our kids to receive a Christian Education while attended public or private schools? And are national Christian Ministries enabling the status-quo on Christian Ed in American?

These questions and more will be addressed this Sunday, March 8th, on the Political Hope Radio Show. Ret. LTC E. Ray Moore with Exodus Mandate will be our guest to discuss Exodus Mandate's Report Card on National Christian Ministries. Also joining the show is Associate Professor Kris Sloan of St. Edwards University in Austin. Professor Sloan has spent much time assessing school accountability, specifically the No Child Left Behind policy. He is also the author of a recent book, "Holding Schools Accountable: A Handbook for Educators and Parents".

When it comes to education, does the buck stop with you as a parent? Join us for the Political Hope Radio show this Sunday at 4 pm, and call with your questions or comments about Christian Education in America.

God Save the U.S.A.
